Peter was back in action on Wednesday 15th June as he and Gina Boakes competed in a variety of races comprising Week 9 of the Sussex Cycle Racing League track series at Preston Park in Brighton.

The evening began with a 6-lap “scratch” race around the outdoor velodrome in which Peter came 5th with Gina two spots behind.  In the 6-lap “Snowball” the first across the line at the end of lap 1 gained 1 point, 2 points at the end of lap 2 and so-on.  Again Peter scored 5th with Gina 8th.

The duo fared far better in the “Elimination” Race with Peter 3rd and Gina 6th from nine.  In the 3-lap “Win-and-Out” Peter was 6th to Gina’s 7th and the night concluded with a distance race where the pair crossed the line 17th and 18th.

The following night Eastbourne Rovers CC ran their own 10-mile TT on the Boship course with a quartet of Wanderers on the start sheet.  Fastest of whom was Michael Valks in 7th with 25:13, but 10th placed Jamie Goldstein took a precious five seconds off his personal-best in taking 10th with 26:21.  Peter Baker (28:02) was 16th and Adrian Hills (30:19) 18th and over four minutes faster than earlier in the week.
