RTTC National Closed Circuit Championship

Joscelin Lowden by Brett Davis

The annual Road Time Trials Council National Closed Circuit Championships took place on Sunday 20th October at Thruxton Motorsport Centre, Hampshire.  Five members of Lewes Wanderers competed over five laps of the track and with no little success.

Racing for The Independent Pedaler Joscelin Lowden recorded an average of 28.81mph to finish in 24 minutes and 22 seconds to triumph over her nearest challenger by a full 45 seconds and claim the crown.

TrainSharp duo Sally Turner and Lisa Davis recorded 27:09 and 28:29 respectively to place 11th and 21st, with Lisa taking an age group victory, while Meredith Gilbert (Skoda DSI Cycling Academy) was 25th out of the 51 female finishers in 28:35.

Lewes Wanderers’ only representative among the 140 men to start was Peter Baker who matched Sally Turners time to the second, which was good enough for 84th out of the 137 finishers.
