ERCC Hill Climb and San Fairy Ann 10

Not content with his bronze-medal position in Lewes Wanderers’ Hill Climb on Monday 5th August Ed Tuckley wiped down his fixed-wheel bike and pitted his abilities up the same Firle Beacon slopes in Eastbourne Rovers’ version of the event on Thursday 15th August.  Exhibiting a good level of consistency Ed was just under 6 seconds slower than the previous week; his time of 5 minutes 19.2 seconds this time leaving him 6th out of the 16 competitors.

Brett Davis was among sixty-nine athletes racing up and down the A21 from Tonbridge to near Sevenoaks on the morning of Sunday 18th August.  In this San Fairy Ann CC promoted 10-mile time-trial he finished 15th in a time of 20 minutes and 46 seconds, just 19 outside of his personal best.  Peter Baker came 36th in 22:08 while the ladies category was won by Brett’s wife and second-claim Wanderer Lisa Davis (trainSharp) in 23:06.
