The Lewes Wanderers Cycling Club
Team Photos from across the years
......

The top Photo is the oldest known picture of our members it is belived to date from 1898 and was taken outside the Fruiterers Arms in Lewes. The lower Picture was taken in 1990 outside the same pub (the pub seems to have had a lot of structural and cosmetic changes made over years).

Below is a photo of the Wanderers (some of the Wanderers) in a mixture of the then new and the previous kit. The picture was taken outside Lewes castle in July 2004.

LWCC Club Runs - this next photo was taken at the top of Box Hill in August 2011

LWCC and the ESCA Reliability Trial - Below is a photo of 30 Wanderers taken after the ESCA Reliability Trial on 18th November 2007. The club won the competition with 33 counters out of the 38 riders who started the event. This is probably the most Wanderers every captured in a single photo. For a full report see our No. 213 - December 2007 magazine.

Below is a photo of 22 Wanderers taken after the ESCA Reliability Trial on 23rd November 2008. The club won the competition with 22 counters out of the 39 riders who had entered the event. On a truly horrendous day that started with snow, ice, cold and wind, with the snow being replaced by torrential rain, the Wanderer’s challengers were decimated, with just 15 riders from other clubs completing qualifying rides. For a full report see our No. 224 - December 2008 magazine.

Below is a photo of 24 Wanderers taken after the ESCA Reliability Trial on 22nd November 2009. The club won the competition with 23 counters out of the 38 riders who had entered the event. On day of torrential downpours, the field was decimated with punctures. For a full report see our No. 234 - December 2009 magazine.

Below is a photo of 18 Wanderers taken after the ESCA Reliability Trial on 21st November 2010. The club won the competition with 40 counters out of the 52 riders who had entered the event. For once the weather was not an issue and unfortunately, a lot of our counters headed for home before we got our traditional snap shot. For a full report see our No. 244 - December 2010 magazine.

Below is a photo of 28 Wanderers taken after the ESCA Reliability Trial on 20th November 2011. The club won the competition with 23 counters out of the 53 successful finishers. This year, Rob Pelham was promoting the event on behalf of LWCC. There were 131 entries, with 103 starting. It was very misty for the first half and very hilly, these factors probably contributed to the high attrition rate. Some of our counters had headed for home before we gathered for our traditional snap shot. For a full report see our No. 253 - December 2011 magazine.
