| The Classic Time Trial League Competition for The Sylvia Burgess Shield |
The Classic League competition was introduced in 1985 and is awarded on a points basis to the club member who has the best placings in a number of selected time trials on 'sporting' / 'hilly' courses.
Points are scored for finishing in the top 30 in each event, i.e. a 1st place is worth 30 points; 2nd place is worth 29 points down to 1 point for 30th. Riders finishing outside the top 30 do not get any points.
In 2012 points will be allocated according to finishing positions in the following ten events: |

| Junior Classic League Competition for the Armstrong-Dowling Trophy |
The Junior Classic League Competition was introduced in 1991, with the Armstrong Dowling Trophy donated by Paul West (inaugural winner, Leigh's father), who wanted to encourage the club's junior (under 18) riders.
Points are awarded to junior riders according to their placings in relation to other juniors in specified club events. The top junior in each qualifying event gets 3 points, with the second getting 2 points and the third 1 point.
 |
The competition is open to all first-claim members of LWCC who are aged from 12 to 18. "Junior" status does not end until December 31st of the year in which an 18th birthday occurs.
For 2012 the qualifying events are:
1) 04/03 - Circuit of Laughton - 12.46 miles - GS/836
2) 15/04 - Circuit of Danehill - 18.11 miles - GS/891
3) 28/06 - Circuit of Earwig - 17.68 miles - GS/838
4) 30/09 - Circuit of Chailey - 17.58 miles - GS/888 |
| The Middlemarkers Competition for The Rabbetts Family Trophy |
Introduced in 2006, this club competition is open to riders who have not beaten 25 minutes for a Ten mile Time Trial or 1 hour 5 minutes for a 25 mile Time Trial in the past three seasons.
Megan Rabbetts donated a new trophy in memory of both Michael and Matthew’s huge contribution to the Wanderers. The inaugural presentation was made by Mick Burgess to Alan Lloyd after the 2006 Circuit of Chailey on the 1st October. Since then it has been handed out at our annual awards evening.
The competition is decided on the same points scoring system as the Classic League. With the added proviso, that in non-Club events only Wanderers score points - e.g. if you finish 52nd in the Sussex CA 25, but are the highest placed Wanderer you get 30 points. I hope that is clear, but if not, give me a shout. |

| The Points Competition for The Mick Burgess Memorial Trophy |
Our new Points Competition was introduced in 2009 and it’s about riding all (or as many as you can) of the pure club TTs (not open events that feature club championships, like the ESCA 25, 50 etc).
The first rider will score 100 points, second 99 etc. This level of points means that the rider(s) who complete the most events should come out on top.
In 2009 we had 64 different club members scoring points, which was pretty impressive and this was topped in 2010 with 77. In 2011 we had 81 qualifying riders, eight of whom beat the 1000 points mark. |

Qualifying Events: After a question from riders in 2009, the Committee agreed to drop the three Evening Tens that include specialised events from the new Points Comp. They are Rd 5 ‘The Tandem Ten’ - Rd 6 ‘The Fixed Ten’ and Rd 12 ‘The Athletes Ten’ - This allows & encourages participation in these events without punishing those riders who take part.
