Press ReportsDuring the racing season we write and submit a report on Monday evening to the Sussex Express and The Courier covering the activities of our club members over that weekend. Where possible we send a photograph from that weekend, if not we use a topical one from our archive collection. The papers normally use our material, but do edit and sometimes cut part of the article and they don’t always use the photo.

In 2009 we produced 48 articles (they consisted of 22,827 words) between 11th January & 14th December and submitted each to The Sussex Express and The Courier. The Sussex Express published every article and photo. The Courier used 46 of the articles and 32 of the photos. These photos, some single riders and some group shots, featured 62 different Wanderers.
In 2008 we produced 45 articles between 14th January & 15th December and submitted each to The Sussex Express and The Courier. The Sussex Express published every article and photo. The Courier used every article and 40 of the photos. These photos, some single riders and some group shots, featured 52 different Wanderers. Mark Winton and Peter Baker topped the appearance charts, both appearing in four different shots.
In 2007 we produced 40 articles (1 a week) between 11th March & 10th December and submitted each to The Sussex Express and The Courier. Every article appeared in at least one of the two papers. The articles appeared in both publications on 35 occasions. With the articles, we submitted 40 different photos, 38 of which appeared in at least one publication. These photos, some single riders and some group shots, featured 45 different Wanderers. Peter Barling topped the appearance charts, appearing in six different shots, Mark Winton & Andy Cox had their image in on five occasions. Peter Baker, John Mankelow and Spencer Coleman all appeared three times.
In 2006 we produced 34 articles between 3rd March and 24th November and submitted them all to The Sussex Express and The Courier. Every article appeared in at least one of the two papers. With the articles we submitted 33 different photos, all of which appeared in at least one publication. These photos, some single riders and some group shots featured 33 different Wanderers. Mark Winton topped the appearance charts, appearing in seven different shots, Andy Cox was runner up getting his image in on five occasions.

We don’t publish separate results on the club Website. We do publish all the results we get in ‘The Lewes Wanderer’ (our club magazine). We list the events and dates on these pages so that you can view the appropriate magazine. The magazines are available as PDF downloads. Results info on all competitions i.e. the Classic League, The Middlemarkers Competition and the Club BAR will also be in the magazine.

2009 ESCA Reliability Winners
Above is a misty photo that features 24 Wanderers taken after the ESCA Reliability Trial on 22nd November 2009. The club won the competition with 23 counters on a day when the rain came down in biblical proportions and punctures plagued many.
