The Classic League Shield is awarded on a points basis to the club member who has the best placings in a number of selected time trials on 'sporting' (or damned hard) courses. Chris Martin won the Shield in 2001, Jim Cheek won it in 2002 & 2003, Mark Winton won it in 2004 and Jim won it again in 2005, with a record points score of 115. For 2006 points are allocated according to finishing positions in the following eight events:

1) East Sussex CA Hardriders 15.8 (12/3)
2) Crawley Wheelers 41 (14/4)
3) Brighton Mitre Hilly 25 (17/4)
4) Tooting BC Hilly 37.3 (7/5)
5) ESCA Diamond Jubilee 60km (28/5)
6) East Sussex CA 50 (18/6)
7) Brighton Mitre Hilly 33 (28/8)
8) East Sussex CA 25 (17/9)

Points are scored for finishing in the top 20 in each event i.e. a 1st place is worth 20 points; 2nd place is worth 19 points down to 1 point for 20th. Riders finishing outside the top 20 do not get any points.

0 against a riders name means that they completed the event, but finished outside the top twenty. DNE = did not enter - DNS = did not start - DNF = did not finish.
